Beyond This Place There Be Dragons takes the viewer to a space at the edge of human habitation. Shot in the Swiss Alps, these images capture the surreal landscape of a glacier and the mountains. At times, man, machine, and nature converge, but never quite come together. The vast scale of the landscape, clouds and mist travelling through the air, make it difficult to read scale and location. I love the ability of photography to make us question and examine more closely what we see, and moments when shots of something "real" become painterly almost to a point of abstraction. Ultimately, a mystical landscape seems on the verge of dropping off into an abyss not of this world.
